we don't... this entire reality could just be a figment of our imagination. There is absolutely no way of proving that you are not the only person in existance.

Because when I get a hug from my children any problems in my 'physical reality' are put aside.

A hug is a physical thing that transfer electrical impulses to my brain. My brain interprets this as unconditional love.

Sentimental i know but hey thats life!

If I were a psychiatrist I would say you are having a psychotic moment, but because I am a human bieng I would say. What are you asking, and why. How do we know we are here. How old are you , two. Have you never had a physical reality, it is called sex, experience, food, enjoyment etc. Sorry. report me.

If it were all in your own mind then the interactions with others would be exactly the way you want them to be, and we know that's not true. You'd have a world like in Matrix, but even the writers of those stories couldn't keep the idea straight.

A wise man once said: As far as your eyes can see, it is all an illusion.
I agree, we drive on evaluations, value judgements and speculations.
I think that reality lays within us.
As long as I have peace in my personal world, the outside world is secondary.
The destiny of humanity isn't more tech. It is peace within for each of us. That desire is our fundamental reality.

As beings with souls its hard to say if my reality is the same as yours.

But 1 thing for sure is that no matter where you go there you are!

Well, no one can really know the answer for sure. However, you just know. There's an instinct inside you that tells you all this is worth it. All we're experiencing is real though it may be bad or happy moments.

because if that elephant i can see but you can't sits on your lap, you may feel slight pressure on your legs.

if said elephant then smacks you in the mouth with its trunk, you may feel a painful sensation quite similar to being punched in the mouth.
