I have a female friend that over the last year I have loaned 20 thousand dollars to. I have asked for only one thing in exchange and that is for her to take a vacation with me for my birthday. She won't commit to the date because she said she would cook for a group that she belongs to but they haven't set a date for that event yet. Now am I wrong in thinking that I was used and tell her that if she needs more money than she needs to get it from the group that takes priority over me.

Sure sounds like she's a user. I'm sorry that she tricked you. I don't think you're wrong in feeling the way you do. I think you're on the right track with what you'd like to tell her. You're alot more polite than I would be in this situation!!

Best wishes in ridding yourself of the old rubbish friend!

$20,000? What, are you nuts? Sorry, but you'll never get a dime back nor the vacation. If she is really your friend she would go to the "group" she is cooking for and tell them the dates she will be gone on vacation with you and let them schedule around her. Good luck with this...don't give her any more money!

Wow!! I guess you care about her a lot. It seems she doesnt feel the same way and was using you for the money. I'm sorry - but I think if she can't go away with you for a birthday shes not into you. Try and get your money back and move on.

Do not loan money with strings attached unless it is upfront at beginning.

20 K is a LOT of $....Keep your money in your pocket and find out if she is really a friend or a player...

What I would do is remind her that when you loaned her the money you asked her and she consented. I would tell her that you understand what she has to do is important but it is not as important as when you made the commitment to give her the money.

You are a fool. A fool in love. She doesnt return those feelings obviously. Cut your losses and move on sweetie. Keep your bankbook closed and change your number!

You were used. Don't loan that kind of money out. Maybe you should try suing her.

Sorry sweetie it sounds like you were used. I'd tell her flat out either you come with me or see ya. Good luck to you.

I think you are "dead on" with your thinking that she has used you.
Her real priority should be in fulfilling your wants at this point. $20,000 - where do I sign up?
