No damage. Sweep them up indoors with a vacuum. Your long term solution is to get three tubes of caulk and a caulk gun and go around your house and fill every crack or hole you can find. It's hard but its a permanent solution--and it will also keep other pests out of your house.

No box elder bugs do no damage your home. They can get in through the smallest of cracks. We lived in a stucco house the they were horrible. Some years yield a bumper crop and some years there are hardly any. Soapy water will kill them, something about a waxy coating on their bodies and if you remove that they can't survive. I fought them for years. We finally resorted to cutting down two huge box elder trees in our yard and replacing them. Made a world of difference. Good Luck.

They don't damage your home, they just create huge messes. You have to kill them off in groups. Soapy water does the trick. But expect more to be back the next day and the next day and so on...
