I have used Scott's weed and feed but weeds prevail. Because it is the Floratam variety I can't use many products because the grass is killed along with the weeds.

The Scotts should work if you follow the directions on the bag. The lawn should be wet so the fertilizer/weed killer sticks to the shoots of the grass. It is absorbed through the shoots not the roots. I have the same grass and this does work. Getting down on all fours a pulling out the weeds also works. That is if you don't have too many.

St. Augustine and Floratan are fantastically lots from the comparable kinfolk. No weed killer is one hundred% secure for any form of grass. i'd propose you to do a weed and feed SCOTTS . somewhat be costly (pink granular fertilizer) yet is worth it. it is going to turn your section green, yet a the comparable time kill a large quantity of weeds... effectively.

I found one at Home Depot. I did the same thing and killed my St. Augustine grass. I don't have the bag to give you the name, but check at Home Depot or Lowes. They do have one and it works.
