how do i get songs from my ipod onto a different computer that the file isnt from?

I have several songs that i got from a friend's computer, how would i transfer them to my computer?

Since that would infringe copyright (i.e. you have not bought the songs) you cannot transfer the songs from your iPod to another computer.

You can copy the songs from his/her computer to yours either across a network or via a USB drive and then import them into your iPod/iTunes

If your friend has purchased the music from the iTunes store then he/she will need to authorise your computer in order that you can play them. (each user is allowed to authorise up to 5 computers)
