hmm i saw the 1st one...too scared to watch the 2nd one..
i believe it's about a house that is "haunted" by a family of ghosts with a grudge.. pretty much sarah michelle gellar gets assigned to help an old lady who lives in a house in japan, and starts to get haunted by noises, and ghosts..she uncovers the story behind the people who lived there before....along with a detective who had been on the case originally when the family had died....
i guess a woman, husband and child were living there...he was abusive, and she fell in love with the white professor @ the school. she made an obsessive diary, complete w/ writings, pictures, drawings, of crazy suicide stuff and obsessed w/ the professor. the husband found it, and went CRAZY, killing the boy in the bathtub and the wife in a horrible way..... so horrible, that their spirits still haunt the house..... and it's gross cuz the way the dead bodies LOOK is disgusting.... and they start to go after sarah michelle, and she keeps searching and searching for the story of the family, and then they start to follow/haunt the family of the old grandmother, and sarah michelle..they can't get away... even in the hospital, they have sarah in quarantine w/ guards and everything, and at the end in the tv monitor u can see a dark shadow appear and start walking slowly towards her room, and comes in, and that's the end of #1..... i don't remember if she dies or not cuz i was SO scared but yeah....

It's really bad.It's not scary.It's a about a cursed house.A terrible tradgy happened in the house where the wife was cheating,and the husband found out.He killed both the wife and the son.I think that's what is about I'm not sure if that's right.I mean as dumb as this sounds I had to watch the movie twice because I didn't get it the first time. If anybody goes in the house they will be cursed with the grudge that was in the house,and will end up dead I think.Well basically no one should go into the house.

yup, i saw it. that movie was soooo dumb. I had to watch it 2 times just to figure it out. It is about a girl who has to take over a house with a unaccessable old lady b/c the other girl that used to take care of her died mysteriously. So she goes to the house and all these creepy people start showing up everywhere she goes and terrorizing the house she was watching. Later on, she found the girl that got killed and the girl was one of them. The grudge is based on a japanese story, so the creatures are japanese. Some of the parts in the movie make you jump, but its not like it will make you have nightmares or something. So, watch it, its not that scary. Go see Silent Hill, the hills have eyes, pulse, or saw if youre looking to be scared

I watched it...pretty weird.
The movie is set in Japan about a father who murders his wife, son, and cat(?) because he thinks the wife is cheating on him.
The wife, son, and cat(?) become spirits that haunt the house in which they used to live.
Whoever goes into the house will be cursed and die a malicious death.
The movie is called "The Grudge" because the wife, son, and cat(?) have a grudge against the father for killing them, so the spirits kill whoever goes in the house.
The over-all movie isn't that scary, I would say spooky.
But if you do watch the movie...
* COVER UP ALL THE MIRRORS IN THE HOUSE WITH A SHEET OR SOMETHING
* LOCK ALL THE DOORS
* CLOSE ALL THE BATHROOM DOORS AND CLOSETS
* LEAVE THE LIGHTS ON
* WATCH IT WITH SOMEONE ELSE (UNLESS THEIR ASIAN LIKE ME, THEN DON'T WATCH IT AT ALL)

I don't even know what it was about. A spirit of some kind lived in a house, killed people, could move around the city after a girl who started piecing things together. It was very freaky, but didn't give me nightmares because it was just too unbelieveable.

oohh..ohhh...oooooooo!!!!!!!1..I caught the last hour of it..I honestly can not answer your question fully..but I will say, that last hour was one of the most scariest I have ever had!...I don't know if I would be able to watch the movie in full. Have no idea what it is about;..just know..me and my friend could not believe how scary and creepy it was! We were flipping the channels one time and that was one..it captivated and scared the crap out of us.

I tried to watch it but it was such a waste of money on a cinema ticket, I covered my eyes with my hands the whole way through!
Very creepy stuff!

Yes, and also the Japanese movie Ju On that it was made after. It is about vengeful spirits left in the house they were murdered in.
