There are many creative industries out there and you can find your direction as you go through college. Start off doing an Art and Design course, where you'll do many different disciplines: photography, fine art, print making, silversmithery, graphic design, sculpture, furniture making, ceramics and more. Then find what it is you like and start studying more of that subject, become an expert in that discipline, get as much experience as possible of that industry (try offering your services free of charge to art galleries, design consultancies and other creative businesses), make contacts within the the creative industries to help you find out where job vacancies may arise.
Keep listening and learning from every creative person who you cross paths with, they've got the experience and knowledge you require, which a lot of can't or won't be taught in the class room.
It's not an easy industry to break into, but once you've got qualifications, knowledge and experience you'll be able to sell your strengths to potential employers.
Good luck, its not easy but its a very rewarding industry.

This may sound stupid to you now, but have you thought about designing your own t-shirts? It's relatively cheap to get started and you could be making money 24 hrs from now. It's just a thought. Try being in business for yourself instead of looking for someone to hire you as an artist. In my opinion, you should use your talent to make yourself rich instead of someone else getting rich of your talent.
