You packet should have days of the week marked on it.
Mine start on a Saturday, but others start with Sunday. If your pills start with Sunday, then you take the first one on the first Sunday after the start of your period, even if it's the day after you started bleeding, or even the first day. If they start with Saturday, then you'd take the first one on the first Saturday of your period.

You start the first day after your menstrual cycle, whatever day of the week that is. Some birth control pills will have the days of the week that you can stick next to the pills to remind you to take them every day. Some instructions will say to start the Sunday after your period, but it is more accurate (with the hormones) to start after your cycle.

Sundays, it should be the first day on your package. It's supposed the be the first Sunday after your period.
If you are confused though, maybe you should call you doctor.
Good luck.
