How do you react when they tell you they don't care and have no intention of getting a diploma or GED?

i feel very sad for them. they have so much potential & they waste it...

Pretty sorrowful that they're so misguided. You don't get many chances in this life and this is one of the most important. Lots of people have spent a lot of time, effort and money on providing a good education for you and this is how you repay them. Many children in the world don't even get an education and certainly most countries don't have the resources you have. Take advantage whilst you can.
Mind you there are always those who think it's cool to grow up dumb, be laughed at by others, not be able to get a job or support themselves, live off welfare, not be able to afford a decent place to live or good clothes and food, foreign holidays and a nice car. And there's those who are happy to turn to crime to fund their lifestyles and cause harm and distress to others. Then there's those who don't mind how much they hurt their parents, families and friends.
If you're one of those I'm disgusted with you. If you're thinking of doing it DON'T. I don't care what the reason. If you haven't studied enough, start now. If you're worried about failing. Don't be. At least you will have tried.

i wish my parents would let me drop out, and i'm not even in high skool. seriously though, its gonna suck and be totally worthless cuz i'm not going to be doing anything with my life.
i can totally relate to the not caring and having no intention of getting a diploma bit.

my friend actually did, and i told him he was stupid for doing it, and he was all like my brother did and he is living well, and i am like yeah but he would be making twice the payroll he is now if he at least had a ged... and he was like yeah tru that.. so yeah

well that was exactly what my cousin did and this is what I told him: You think high school is hard and not worth the time? well .... I think a bachelors is nothing.. you better get started ASAP!
