I'm a republican - but so far in W's reign
gay marriages have been blocked
my RIGHTS as a woman as to my MEDICAL CARE have been REDUCED (he's quite close to making abortions illegal again - bring out the coat hangers in dark alleys)
he is DEFENDING a PEDOPHILE in his own ranks
He started a WAR under false pretenses
He is most likely going to start another
He thinks it is OK to wiretap the phones of American Citizens
He has reduced our rights under the first amendment
I was a fan of Reagan and the first George Bush. but this one? He's ruining our environment, blocking the development of alternative fuel research, thinks women should be second class citizens and his most OBVIOUS and BLATANT mistake?
FORGETTING ONE OF THE FACETS OUR COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON: THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!!! He should keep his god to himself, because I KNOW we don't pray to the same god. And religions freedom is WHY this country was founded... he needs to keep his god in his family and OUT OF HIS POLITICS!

On the contrary, I would ask that you provide me with one good reason why he is even remotely close to a good president.
His father managed to go in and quickly GET BACK OUT of the country we needed to fight. Sadly, Dubya has only figured out the "go in" part.
Clinton got more done (with much Republican resistance, I might add) in his first 100 days than Dubya has done the entire six years he's been in office.
Dubya has reversed important ecological legislation, putting the planet's natural resources at risk.
Dubya is too concerned about pissing off his Texan constituents (read lobbyists) to actually put his foot down and address the illegal immigration issue.
Dubya can't pronounce the simplest of phrases, and is an embarrassment to the country. People all over the planet laugh at him, and assume we're all like him.
Regardless of why we're at war, there are two serious problems with the situation in Iraq. The first that I need to bring up is the lying...he told us two different fabricated reasons for going there...I will assume the third is real, just to give him the benefit of the doubt...Most of us Americans are big enough kids that we can handle the truth...Give it to me straight, and if I don't like it, I can lump it. The second issue is the tragic lack of ability to simply clean up our mess and get out...A GOOD president would have already taken care of the problems, and had most of our young Americans back home already.
FYI, first thing I thought when I saw your question was that you must be a bit sore about Dubya's continued loss of points in the popularity poll.
I think there are more than one reason why he's not the best. I won't say he's the worst. Before you really try to put him in the number one spot, you might do a little historical research to see who qualifies as "good".

Bush will not be remembered as a great president, let alone the greatest. If you would like to take a look at the biography of US presidents on www.whitehouse.gov it states the following about Bush's predecessor:
During the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history. He was the first Democratic president since Franklin D. Roosevelt to win a second term. He could point to the lowest unemployment rate in modern times, the lowest inflation in 30 years, the highest home ownership in the country's history, dropping crime rates in many places, and reduced welfare rolls. He proposed the first balanced budget in decades and achieved a budget surplus. As part of a plan to celebrate the millennium in 2000, Clinton called for a great national initiative to end racial discrimination.
In years to come Clinton will be remembered as one of the 20th century great American presidents and the Bushes only as something they tend in the White House gardens.

The team that he selected has done a miserable job of executing a war that shouldn't have been fought in the first place.
He has continuously used one of the greatest tragedies in American history for political advantage.
He uses that same tragedy to increase his power beyond what was originally intended in the constitution.
He has undermined US credibility around the world in a time when we need cooperation to protect ourselves from terror attacks.
He entered office with a budget surplus that has now become the largest deficit in history.
Next time ask a hard question.

Getting what done? Squandering the deficit we had? Foiling all efforts to prevent environmental disasters (and I hate hippies too)? Bowing down to the superstitious religious types by turning this into a theocracy? Starting a failed war that he still denies has resulted in a civil war? What are the good things he's done? And it doesn't count if you're a Haliburton employee.

Ahem...lets see...you know, the list is too exstensive to whittle down to ONE answer (they are all good, i assure you). So i will retort with this:
He has not done ONE GOOD thing for this country...oh and he is even managed to f-up some other ones too...
Maybe you should pay better attention to politics or at least learn to comprehend things better. Cause i dont know what you are reading, watching, etc...to make you think that he is...erm..."gettin it done", as you put it, but i assure you, sir, he is not.

i can't dispute that i agree with you that Dubya is a good president but the best ever i would have to same by saying that you would have to disregard all the other great presidents of the united states like for instant George Washington who actually fought against British troops in order to gain freedom, or Lincoln who helped free the slaves in the civil war, or the many more to speak of he is a great president but the one reason you can't call him the best is because you would have to eliminate the other great leaders of our country

Bush lies! For example, He lied to the American people about the 'link between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda' and that 'Afghanistan was hiding Bin Laden' when Bush fully know that Bin Laden had not been in Afghanistan for 6 months.
