1.) Jedi aren't suppose to have attachments - at least not in the terms of the Old Republic. When Luke rebuilt the Jedi Order, he did not bring back that rule. In fact, in the novels that follow the events of the Return of the Jedi, he marries a former Sith named Mara Jade.
2.)When Anakin (Darth Vader) threw Emperor Palpatine over the railing on the Second Death Star, he supposedly fulfilled the prophecy referenced in the prequel trilogy. Thus the Force was brought back into balance.

Because Jedi's are stupid. Now the Sith..they are fun at parties and much more human.
The whole prophecy is crap anyway.."bring balance to the force" by the very statement is to have both light and dark in equal force...so he turned dark and got rid of the jedis...hence he threw it out of balance..then he killed the Emperor and died leaving no Sith which left just Jedis which left the force OUT of balance again but just the other way.

The reason they could not have sex was not because sex was wrong. But that they are not supposed to favor any being over another. They are not to make attachments to other that would hinder their judgement. Anakin repeatedly choose to disobey direct orders to save either Padme or Obi Wan.

They couldn't overindulge or fall in love. I'm sure some of them got hookers. The only problem was growing attached to a woman.
