No idea where you heard that but the idea's absurd, there have been gay athletes as long as there have been athletes, just like gay soldiers, and anything else. Do you honestly think the coach, or country, of a world class gay athlete would rather their country lose than have him compete? What are the Gay Olympics? I hadn't heard of that one, it sounds like what the Woman's Libbers did in the 60's when they started "Women only" Chess tournaments because no women were capable of making it into the finals of international competition, they announced in "MS" magazine that Fischer and Spasky were only playing for the "Men's Title" and that their supposed "Woman's Title" holder had equal status, though she had competed in the same prelims as the two men and had gotten crushed.

Because they do un natural deeds in the leapfrog events,it doesnt look good in front of the crowd.
