This is a tremendously complex issue and one whose fair treatment is clearly beyond the limited scope of this forum. Suffice it to say that, all inspirations are ultimately fueled by love, fear, boredom, necessity, desire and interest. Now, I believe everyone of those underlying causes can be effectively measured, by examining / judging the final quality and impact of the resulting inspirational work / outcome itself, with the possible exception of love-propelled inspirations. For as a friend of mine once said: "Love is sufficient unto itself", and hence immeasurable in all its manifestations.

The kind of inspiration depends on its source. Same thing with its measure. Can you be more specific? If you list the source, it would be easier to answer this question.
