Red Hot Chili Peppers, two years ago in Hyde Park. Man, they were boring! And they obviously forgot they had a career (and much better songs, come to think of it) before Mother's Milk.
Severely disappointed I was, especially since I've loved 'em for YEARS. And Hyde Park sucks, it's all flat so you can't see anything and the security were arsoles.

Black Sabbath at The Gaumont Theatre, Southampton, UK 1977 or '78.
Reason: apart from being totally overshadowed by an up-and-coming band called Van Halen that they had as support act, the main amps broke down about halfway through and we had NO SOUND!!! That is except Ozzie Osbourne repeatedly saying "keep cool man it'll be fixed in a minute".
Even when it was "fixed" we couldn't hear the lead guitar!
There was another concert around that time on the university campus - and only students were allowed to attend. The band was the punk group The Rich Kids (who were utter rubbish) but we were besieged by hundreds of kids from the local town who got really hostile when they found out they weren't going to be let in. We ended up having to barricade the doors with tables and chairs as bricks and bottles were thrown at the windows. Still - it was better that watching the band!

Lunchtime in London, on a very cold, windy, miserable Sunday in the middle of February 10 years ago.
Thought we would go to a classical concert at the Barbican.
Didn't look what was on - just paid at the door and went in.
It was Russian Folk Singing!
No orchestra - just 6 Russians and an awful lot of empty seats - including ours after 45 minutes

Interpol….don’t get me wrong, I really like the band, but the concert was crap because the crowd sucked. It was like a fashion show for tortured emo kids. No one moved throughout the entire concert…not even a head bob. They just stood like a bunch of statues. They hardly even cheered (too cool to cheer, I guess). What a boring bunch of people.
Smashing Pumpkins…I love them too, but when I saw them in concert, a bunch of jackasses in the pit were throwing water bottles at them. Billy Corgan got PISSED, and he threatened to end the show if they kept throwing things….and the jackasses kept throwing things! They stopped the concert and left the stage, but they returned after a few minutes and played this really long mish-mash of instrumental stuff, and a couple more songs and then they were done. I was very disappointed.

An Indian music concert in a large concert hall in London. I was on duty as a steward and it was impossible to keep any form of order, as the audience seemed to think that it was perfectly all right to wander in and out, talk and start praying in the direction of Mecca. I can't remember who the performers were, just how outrageously the audience behaved!

When I was a Polytechnic (!) back in the dim and distant past, there was a band on in Student Union every Wednesday some were truly brilliant some were dire, I've forgotten most of the duffers, but one stands out (No offence to you, or the late, great John Peel, if you like them but...) The Jesus and Mary Chain were just appaling.
Just to balance out the musical styles I also went to see Blue Oyster Cult at the West Runton Pavillion in 198* They were doing a warm up under the name of "Soft White Underbelly" and just could not play as one group. When they did Don't Fear The Reaper, that was it I vowed never to listen to any of their music again!
This has not put me off going to see live music, and gigs in small venues tend to attrack me more than Stadiums. I was in Des Moins, Iowa several years ago and saw a band in a bar playing original and covers of rock music-brilliant! But i've no idea who they were.

Gotta be Snoop Dogg in Glasgow a year or so ago. Went with my new girlfriend cos she gave me a free ticket. I was bored shitless and we had an arguement on the way home. We're still together, though. The crowd were a bunch of muppets and acted like they were from South Central LA rather than central Scotland. Oops, better watch out one may read this and attempt to put a cap in my ***...

I went to see Nick Lachey last night at the Borgata in Atlantic City. He was really good. I'm not a crazy fan- just went with a friend. It was general admission standing room only and the crowd was ridiculous. No one could move or get out if they had to. Girls were pushing there way thru people to try to get to the front. I wouldn't let them past me! There was almost a fight..if it happened we would have all been trampled. What a crazy mess.

Warped Tour 2006. To think that I wasted a vacation day on that crap... The crowd was filled with a bunch of morons. If I would have had to tell one more person not to push me I was going to go ballistic. One of my friends told me that she was afraid I was going to get us into a fight, but it would have been totally worth it to punch one of those stupid emo kids or their slutty girlfriend in the face. I love AFI, and they were about the only reason I went, but I hung around until almost 6 o'clock to see them play a whopping six songs. After enduring the idiots that we did, more than six songs would have been nice. Okay, I'm done whining now.

Classix Nouveaux at Battersea Park. They'd finally scored a top 30 hit and Mik Sweeney took that as licence to write a load of shite afterwards. I was right at the front and had trouble escaping.
