Yes. I've taken my laptops to all over Africa and it works. Just make sure you have a Plug pin adaptor because most African countries don't have a US plug available.

laptop should work every where, you just need to check Power supply, some country used different voltage

They do, buying them from the USA is cheaper than buying them there because of import taxes..
