I'd speak of racism being one thing, bigotry and discrimination another. Racism was a psuedo scientific belief that there was more than one race, (there isn't there is only the human race). Moreover, this specious science declared that some races were INNATELY inferior to other races. This idea has been completely discredited, and no one but the lunatic fringes of some societies still hold this erroneous belief. Sadly, the word racism has been co-opted by groups that want to play victim or that want to victimize others. Serbs hate Croates, and all sorts of bigotry and discrimination take place in the Balkan pennisula because of it, but are they really different races? Tootsies and Hootsus hate each other in Rawanda. Are they really different "races"? Or are they just different tribes. Muslims and Christians are trying to kill each other around the world right now. Are these races? No they are religions. There is no doubt that a world of bigotry and discrimination takes place because of these religious differences, but it is not "racism". This may seem like a slight semantic difference, since whether or not we call it racism, it involves hate, injustice and death. However, semantics should not be dismissed so readily; it is the art of precise communication. In this country, for instance, if people of color realized it wasn't a race issue, but rather an issue of bigotry, they might rise above it more easily, and recognize their own prejudices and discriminations. They could address the problems created by classism, bigotry and discrimination without the extra burdern and baggage that is the residue of racism.

Racism is a belief in the moral or biological superiority of one race or ethnic group over another or others.
We must fight against this. Try with Bob Marley, all his life he fought against racism, injustice, and oppression.
