they say their loyal not, they say they stick with one team not. over the past 10 years more and more Leafs fans are jumping on the bandwagon of the Senators true.

one of the biggest reasons why most NHL fans hate the Toronto Maple Leafs not as much as the team its self, its more the fans and the Toronto media that make it seem as the Leafs are Canadas team and they arent the Montreal Canadiens have been around way longer and is more loyal than any other team. the Habs sell out every year only problem with Montreal is that they are paying over $20 million in taxes a year way more then the next team.

and the Leafs fans have proven a point out a few nights ago when they the Leafs beat the Sens 6-0, well to all the people that come to this sight will see how cocky they the Leafs fans had become and are already talking Stanley cup. its the same every year one big win 5 game winning streak and the Toronto Maple Leafs are the best team in the NHL.

Richard L>>> if you really look it up then you will see that the Maroons where the english team in Montreal and the Habs where the french team. what about all the empty seats at the ACC, most season ticket holders are from some corporat buisness, and only give the tickets that come to Toronto on busness look it up it also was in all the papers the other day. Habs are loyal even when we went thrue the dark ages for the pat 10 years we are still here. not like the few % that left the Leafs to become a Sens fan, until the Leafs starts winning again. go buy the Toronto Star for Monday 9th and you will see what im saying Leafs fans arent loyal some are but most arent.

Richard L>>>>> hey stupid look it up the Montreal Canadiens started in 1909 not the same time as the st-pats. toronto arenas were founded in 1917 and turn to the st-pats in 1919 and the st-pats folded in 1927. the owner of the st-pats wasnt wanted in the NHL and a new team came out the toronto maple leafs. before you say anything you should look it up. cause im not going to explain to a dumb *** like you about the history. Montreal Canadiens founded in 1909, toronto maple leafs founded in 1927.

Wow. Are you serious? Leaf fans never convery to Habs or Sens fans. We are equally as loyal as any other Canadian team. It's not about being cocky, Leaf fans just happen to be the most knowledgeable fans in the entire league, and that's a fact.

Hab history is far greater, and you have more Stanley Cups, so I don't think that the media favours Toronto in any way. However, Toronto is like the NY of Canada anyway, due to other factors than sports, which makes it a central media hub under lots of scrutiny.

I am a die hard leaf fan, but I am nowhere near talking Stanley Cup this year. We may have beaten the Sens opening night, but they have consistently killed us the past few years.

I am not even from Toronto and I see that your the biggest moron all the way from Chicago. I am a loyal Leaf fan, no matter what the Hawks' ever will do. As for the Habs, I respect their history but, if your fan base is anything like you then, then your not true hockey fans. If the Leafs went 0-89, I would still wear my jersey with pride!!! I doubt you would do the same!

ARE YOU KIDDING MAN????

haven't you watched any of
CBC's: HOCKEY: A Peoples History????

Montreal Fans left their team for the more french team the nordiques. Looks like to me that habs fans are the most disloyal.

and the Canadiens have only played 9 seasons more than the Maple leafs...but you are forgetting that the leafs had a name change from the st. pat's to the Maple leafs..the st.pats were the same team...not like the habs and maroons. so the franchises have been playing the same amount of years...look it up!

And I suppose you're a loyal Montreal fan? Who were you cheering for when they lost in last year's playoffs? Ottawa? What about when they choked too? Buffalo or Carolina? How about the finals? Oilers? Admit it, you aren't a loyal Montreal fan either, so shut up. You jump onto someone else's bandwagon when Montreal loses in the playoffs, just like all those other "loyal" Habs fans.

I equate the Leafs to the Dallas Cowboys in the 70s. They were "America's Team". They were on television every Sunday ( when there were only 3 networks and no cable ).

The Leafs are on every Saturday on CBC's HNIC, so they get similar exposure.

Like the Dallas Cowboys, you either love them or hate them.

Although I agree partially with what you say but they do sell out that bldg win or lose. Personally I think it's stupid as there really is no incentive for Make Belief mgmt to improve the team to seriously contend.

I just find the T.O. media annoying as that's fed to even us out here on the Wet Coast.
