I found some beautiful organza wrap bags in holiday tones or jewel tones at "abcdistributing", they come in a set of 8 for $6.95 per set. The colors are beautiful and each are 20 square inches.
I have always thought fabric makes a pretty gift wrap

You can use comics, tissue paper, construction paper, tin foil, fabric, gift bags, wrapping paper, paper bags, and one of my favorites, if you have kids, butcher paper. You can sometimes get a local deli to order you a roll and they sell it to you or your may be able to find a place that sells it. The reason I say it is great for people who have kids is because the kids will LOVE to color on the paper and it will make a BEAUTIFUL homemade wrapping paper!!!

We have used wallpaper. It has more body to it, and usually has a gloss to it. If the package gets some moisture on it, it normally rolls right off, too!

We have picked it up at paint and wallpaper stores when they have their clearances. You can often get a large roll for about 50 cents each, and there is WAY more material per roll than a typical roll of real gift wrap. Check it out!

really annoying and slightly painful: rubberbands all the way around so the person thinks they are getting a ball of rubber bands.

duct tape is hilarious! Obviously you can't put that on the gift itself...you need a box for the gift then wrap the box with one color of duct tape and add a "ribbon" using another color.

Newspaper, another gift(If you are giving a blanket too, or something), Bubble gum wrappers, wall-paper, tissues, lots of ribbon, pick up sticks/popcycle sticks glued together to form a box, a pillow case, hair scrunchies, posters. The ideas go on!

contact paper like to line a shelf. It's sticky but not too sticky and good if you're bad at gift wrapping.
