if you love him or hate him, what's your honest opinion? i'm not a fan. (i'm a jay cutler fan) but i think he did a pretty solid job. not too many rookie QB's throw for 2 TDs and 253 yards and complete 62% of his passes in the first game. yes, he threw an interception, but not too many mistakes. but i think he's gonna still struggle. if peyton manning struggled in his first year, leinart will struggle too. he still has A LOT to work on, but he's giving some hope. and how about leading the cardinals down the field without very little time left and no timeouts. not too many rookie signal callers can do that. i think it'll take a while, maybe a few years, for him to be one of the elite passers in the league, but he's got a good foundation to start from. but he is a rookie, and he still must learn. plus, do you think they should stick with leinart the rest of the season or go with warner?

Not too shabby. He is definately a future star so far.

Yep, I am a Jay Cutler fan too, but I am biased as I live near Denver.

Matt Leinart had a good first NFL start and he will continue to improve in the pro's, however, he will never live up to the hype just like every other college sports start never has. I could make a list of college all-stars that are riding the bench or have already retired because they just couldn't cut it. I am no I am not saying he won't be a good QB but this isn't USC or college we are talking about. I doubt, however, he will ever be an elite passer in the NFL. Only time will tell. Just think back 5 years for all the Heisman winners and talked about players in college and see where they are today.

He did pretty good. It's always hard to get going as a rookie. The USC team he played for was the closest thing to a pro team in college, so I think that helped. He was used to playing with and against (in practice) NFL quality players, which I think helped him adjust. He was also holding out for a contract much of the training camp, so his success is even more amazing. He's got all the tools to become a great player in the NFL.

nothing like big Ben when he started Ben was amazing 15-0 nothing better then that and i hate the guy but u got to give him credit OK now Matt he going to be good after his first year not no tom Brady or Peyton manning or Joe Montana and so on but he looks good I'm a chiefs fan and he had me little scared but are D wasn't playing very good at first but after that Matt couldn't do anything we was in his face the whole time. I think they should keep warner just cause i like him and what he did in stl but everyone gets rusty

Let's reserve judgement about him until he plays a road game in a hostile environment such as a dome, although I think the Bears will e pretty hostile to him this week. I do think that alot of teams are going to be sorry that they passed on him in the draft, including the only team to be eliminated from playoff contention so far, the Raiders.

I think he did amazingly well for a first time out. He has a great ability to read defenses. He is only going to learn and improve as he plays more. He is definitely one to keep your eye's on. He gave the Cardinals all they could ask for out of a Quarterback. Well everythign but a win, but still very impressive for a first time out.

uhm, there's the guy who he took over for that won a heisman, played for the same team, same coach and offensive coordinator (Norm Chow) and is leading the Bengals right now.

Carson Palmer didn't turn out too badly.

Aside from Carson, I agree with your point.
