I want to fly within the US and I know my car won't make it I just want to make a weekend trip and I want to know how to fly cheap

So far Kayak is my favorite way to find cheap flights, prices shown include most taxes.

Cheapoair.com also shows cheap flights, but with this site the prices you see right away DO NOT include tax; after the tax is added it's usually about the same as kayak.
Also try expedia.com

there are a number of discount airlines; it depends where you're going to/from.
