what can you, as one person do to legalize same-sex marriages?
i'm getting a college education to strenghten my skills in order to be succesfull in life, i want my voice to be heard. i will always vote. i will do research and write papers on the subject. i'm willing to work hard and fight for us. i want to get involved in groups, just not sure which ones or how to start..what else could i do? what have you done, or want to do? it's time we all stuck together and fight for what's rightfully ours, if we don't no one will. hate me, love me, that's all irrelevant. i'm young enough to where i have my whole life to fight for this.

there's so much work that needs to be done. this won't happen overnight. we have to all stand up for ourselves and fight the system untill we get what we deserve. i'm still waiting for one answer to lift my spirits up. it's sad that people are too lazy or just discouraged and think that there's nothing you can do about this. everyone's effort would add up. i, for one am sick of being treated like s.hit and i'm ready to do everything in my power to fight for us. are you going to leave me with all the work?

I'm straight, and don't care if I ever get married or not. That may sound blunt, but it's just the honest truth. A lot of the baggage that goes along with so-called "romance" just seems ridiculous and illogical to me.

As for same-sex marriage, I've spoken out in favor of it publicly on a number of occasions, and hope that in some small way, I've at least raised a bit of consciousness locally on the issue. I've come under fire for supporting it, but who cares? I feel that if one group has marriage rights, then ALL groups should share those same rights.

Of course. I do everything possible to help the process along as well including writing editorials as well as letters to my local and state representatives, senators, not to mention groups like the HRC, ACLU, GLAAD, PFLAG, and so many others...
I am heading toward "middle age" now but I still have plenty of fight left in me.
The only thing, if there ever was a Constitutional Ammendment that passed banning same-sex marriage, although it would grieve me to do so, I would move to Canada to be able to get the human rights I deserve.

I completely agree with you.
I am legally allowed to get married, but I refuse to get married until EVERYONE in the U.S.A. is allowed to marry the one they love.
I also think that it is B***S*** that some people claim that homosexuals have the exact same rights as anyone else since they can marry someone of the opposite sex. WRONG. Opposite-sex marriage is screwed up in so many cases (high divorce rate, las vegas marriages, etc.), yet two people of the same sex who truly love each other cannot get married.
To anyone who quotes Leviticus: you cannot pick and choose what parts of Leviticus you want to follow. READ THE WHOLE CHAPTER.
One more thing: I don't think it truly matters whether it's called marriage, as long as same-sex couples have EXACTLY the same rights as opposite-sex couples.

I'm already married to the man I intend to spend the rest of my life with. In addition to our other advocacy activities I think being a living example is a great contribution. We've been married nearly two years without having caused harm to anyone else's families, nor has civilization ceased to function. At least, not because of us! ;-)

yeah, i do wish to be married because i really desire a boyfriend for life. all i ever wanted for them, i wanted to be there for him when there's an accident, when there's trouble and lawsuit is required, and if one of us dies, we get the share of each other's expenses and personal belongings. it's al;l about love to me.

the reason is this, because the world is full of danger and chances of losing ewach other is high. but it would be far worse if one of us is injured, lost, or dead and either of us are not seen as recongized couple.

i rather die than to see a future boyfriend and i parted in the utmost cruel matter by the society and religion. there is just so much i wanted to have for a lover, i do want us to be fully happy and able to get benefits we deserve. without that we would be seen as rats in the corner of the house.

Rise up! Open your mouth! Speak your mind! Lead your GLBTQQIA siblings in the fight! I'll agree that too many of us are doing too little. We need someone that's present standing up, uniting and motivating the community into action.
