I've used it and it does work but it wasn't perfect. It seemed to work by drying out my oily skin but my acne would get worse again around my period. Doctors are also reluctant to prescribe Dianette for more than 18-24 months as long term it's less safe than other contraceptive pills (and possible because it's expensive).
It's boring I know but for my moderate to milde acne the most effective thing I found was to clean my skin very very carefully morning and evening with a good quality face wash, use a moisturiser for skin with acne and eat a healthy diet.
If you have any acne scaring I can highly recommend microdermabrasion. It's not cheap at around £35 a session, mildly uncomfortable but very quick and effective. They bombard your skin with tiny crystals that exfoliate your skin and stimulates it to regrow. I had one session a month for 3 months at the local beautician and it's left my skin much clearer and very soft.

My daughter had bad acne and she uses Dianette, it was good, but she felt she needed more help so doc gave her antibiotic too after trying it alone of a few months. See how it goes and then ask for additional help if you need it. But remember if you use antibiotic with dianette it is no longer effective as a contraception. She suffered no negative side effects.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.
