what are the account servers smtp pop thingies for my mail account so that i can get it working on outlook, ta

trying to get mail working on an old PC running win98, just need to know details of mail servers for a yahoo.co.uk account, is it pop3 or imap or what? please help, it's all really simple i just don't know much

These are the instructions for Outlook express to access yahoo POP3 I assume Outlook is the same:

1. Click tools.
2. Accounts
3. select the Yahoo acount.
4. Click properties
5. Give the account a name, enter the name of the account and the email address, the check the box marked include this account when receiving mail or sycronising.
6. Click server at the top and fill in this info:
pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
If you're using Yahoo.com substitute that for Yahoo.co.uk.
Put you account name in as it appears in your email address but just the bit before the @.
Put in your password and check the remember password box.
Check the my server requires authenification box.
7. Click connection at the top and make sure you have the right connection. It probably says broadband connection. I've recently changed that on mine to local area network - because I'm using a local area network!
8.Click advanced and check the port numbers,
They should be SMTP: 25 Pop3: 110
Note don't check any of the boxes on that page and click OK.
If you went to options on Yahoo and selected pop3 - it should now work.

Note for gmail users - that last page is different. The boxes are checked and the ports are different.

smtp - mail.btinternet.co.uk
Login
Password
Check use same as incoming server for outgoing.
