Less than 50/50. After Carpenter what do the Cardinals have left to throw at the Mets lineup? Not much. The Mets are the best hitting team in the National League. Mets should win in 6.

It all depends on pitching. If the same guys who faced the Padres show up against the Mets the Cards will waltz into the series. The Mets are full of offensive holes. Guys like Delgado this year make easy KOs and prey on weaker pitching. Kind of strange actually since Delgado used to be a really dangerous hitter. If the Cards pitch around Beltran and Wright the Mets don't have any RBI men to bring them in. Green has been so so this year and Floyd an offensive void. Of his 44 RBIs in the reguler season 11 were him. Floyd brought in all of 2 RBIs in the division series. So beating the Mets is as simple as don't give Beltran and Wright anything to hit. Make Floyd and Delgado chase bad pitches. Then hope somebody like LoDuca doesn't come up big.

With the Cards the offense is more spread out, though Pujos was a one man offensive juggernaugt in the division series. If the Met's pitch around Pujos the Cards still have Rolen and Edmonds. Don't forget Eckstein. In the postseason in the clutch he is dangerous. So the Mets can't really just pitch around one or two guys. They can't pitch around half the line up. Though Wilson makes an easy out every inning or two. Belliard had a big division series, so he might sneak up on Met's pitching also. Yadier Molina is also the kind of guy who has a big series in the post season.

Carpenter and Glavine are the two aces. Both teams are suspect after that. With Pedro and El Duke out for the Mets that leaves them essentially running a 2 man rotation. Maine got what was essentially a bullpen start. The Cards are running out 3 regulers. So the longer the series goes the more in favor of the Cards it will be. Glavine traditionally when he has a good division series is just as good in the championship series. Wagner is a true closer. Isringhausen plays one on TV. Both are quite hittable in the postseason career wise and from division series performance. So I give the Cards a slight edge in pitching. A big edge offensively.

So I think the Cards will prevail. The longer the series the bigger the advantage for the Cards.

Very good. To the dude who said they don't have anyone past Carpenter, Weaver has pitched very well his las 6 outings and, Suppan was the best pitcher stat wise in September. The Mets were fortunate to beat the Dodgers as everything went their way. The ONLY thing the Mets have going for them is their hitting and their closer, Wagner.

If Willie was smart he'd walk Pujols evertime he came up to bat. He might be 0 for his last 8 but that won't last. So yes the Cardinals have a very good chance, in my humble opinion.

Cardinals in 7. Weaver is stellar on the road, Anthony Reyes loses game two. Carpenter and Suppan win 3 and 4. Cards lose 5 at home and game six on the road. Carpenter shuts down the Mets in game 7, wins NLCS MVP. The Cards are looking for one for the other thumb.

Only if Pujols can bat once every 4 hitters.

To the Card fans who might not remember, Weaver in NY = high ERA, he just loves the big city.

In 6 games this year the Mets beat the Cardinals in 4 of them.

Somebody down below mentioend momentum, the Mets have won 7 strait games.

Decent with momentum. I am going with the Cardinals in 6 : 4-2.

I thought the Redbirds did pretty decent in the regular season against them. I might be wrong.

All I can say is NOBODY knows...Teams have on days and they have off days. Every team in the playoffs deserves to be there, after all they made it that far.

Who ever would have thought that the Tigers would have beat the Yankees...No one...but it happened. Just keep the faith and believe in your team!!!!
