Inside Man was a really good movie. If you want to cry and do not mind reading subtitles, Life is Beautiful is an excellent Choice. If you want to see something older and in black and white, try Now Voyager with Bette Davis. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a great movie for which Elizabeth Taylor should've won an Oscar and to me one of her very best performances.

Depends what kind of mood you are in. Since Halloween is right around the corner, perhaps rent 'Halloween', 'Friday the 13th', etc. If you want a good romance rent 'Legends of the Fall'. Something classic 'My Fair Lady'.
There are too many to choose from.
Good luck!

The Matrix (if you've never seen it)

Kill Bill, Vol. 1 (if you like ultra-awesome violence)

Lucky Number Slevin (if you like to think and laugh hard)

A Beautiful Mind (if you like inspirational stories)

The Godfather (if you want a classic)
