Liberals aren't upset with Foley.

They are thrilled with Foley, because they love to point the fingers at a Republican who did the same thing that Clinton did.

Of course, the difference between the two parties is that the Democrats still supported their pervert, and the Republicans turned their back on Foley.

Choose which response you prefer.

the real question is if the child's home state has that as the legal age and did the parents (remember family values?) condone having their children seduced by a 50 year old guy when they were their for government experience. Well I guess they did experience government... the republican way. As in, above the law.

But the real problem is the GOP leadership not applying their family values and ethical "superiority" to stop the behavior a long time ago. They went with political expediacy, which is something they accuse liberals of.

Make up your mind. You're a con who always says liberals love gays. Therefore, by process of elimination, the Democrats' problem with Foley is that he was a pervert who tried to seduce young kids. More importantly, the problem is that the corrupt Republican party swept this under the rug for 6 years

I'm upset because (1) Foley as a gay man supported a party that encourages discrimination against gays, (2) He engaged in behavior that was by its very nature inappropriate--pages are extremely young people and I would be precisely as upset if the pages in question were female, (3) Evidently the Republican leadership engaged in a coverup.

On a tactical level, I must admit to being pleased the Republican Party continues to shoot itself in the foot, over and over and over again.

he didnt man up and accept blame and folks had been covering his back for years

plus it was very innappropriate. Its just bad. The way he is bowing out just makes it worse.

Plus how is it possible this can be spun so its anyones fault but the perpetrator and those who tried to cover it up. what does this have to do with Democrats? Why is it anytime something happens on that side of the aisle that clearly isn't partisan its made to be that way by right wing talking heads and their sheep? why can't this just be about a sick old man and the bastards that tried to hide it?

Age of consent under 18 does not mean leagally able to have sex with a 50 year old.

16 year olds are legally old enough to have sex with?

REVISION: Yep, good catch. I got that consent age mixed up with the marriage law.

But back to your question....no, not that he's gay. My point of contention was that in addition to soliciting sexual exchanges with a teenage page, he was also pushing enforcement against Internet predators while carrying out his actions, AND was also being protected by the House GOP leadership, the supposed bastion of "family values".

He took advantage of a child, he is a predator and preyed on them across state lines and also in san diego CA.

Sure: He used his position of authority to lure the boy into sexual conversations. Then he engaged in sleezy 'phone sex'.
These children were so traumatized that some of them were "turned off" (no pun) altogether to politics. Cant say i blame them.

He also ...ahem....'felt them out' as teens and then when one was out of his teens had butt sx with him. That is why predators should not be in positions of authority over our teen boys.

Instead of supporting a predator dont you think you should be supporting our young children? In the words of a teen page ......sic sick sick

The bigger story is, the coverup.

Not upset with Foley per se... but the coverup just adds to the miles long list of OTHER Repuke corruption, scandels and scams which are FAR MORE SERIOUS and lethal to the USA.

What an absurd question. It's not the liberals who have a problem with gays... remember?
