They are, you've just mellowed.
My hatred for Man U was at its zenith in the 70's and 80's, and it was all down to their fans being arrogant twats.
In the 90's nothing changed as far as the fans being arrogant went, but at least they had something to shout about.
Over the past 10 years I've mellowed with age, I still don't like them but the hatred isn't there anymore.
Chelsea have shut them up which is a bonus, and I just hope the true "Mighty Reds" can be up there challenging for the title.
All round the fields of Anfield road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play)
We had Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
Of the glory round the fields of Anfield road ............

I'd say that true fans (of any club) will hate their traditional "enemies" but really dislike the glory hunter fans following the latest thing - hence Liverpool/Man U and now Chelski.
I know my antipathy for glory hunters is real - not helped in the past by media adulation for clubs at the top of their game.
To an extent it is also the Tall Poppy Syndrome as well.
As for buying the title - are you really telling me that Man U etc didn't do the same - it is only that Chelsea now have the blank chequebook that grates.

Man Utd??? Who's that, can't seem to recall that name...
Ah, now I remember. The team that won that Mickey Mouse Cup in February, defeating the rugby side, Wigan.
Sheesh, why would I hate a team that wins Mickey Mouse Cups?

Actually, a lot of people have hated United more since the Malcolm *spit* Glazer *spit* debacle. All around Manc I see 'Love United, Hate Glazer' stickers. There have been a lot of United fans who have converted to FC United on principle, and I don't blame them.
United's glory days are over for now - they left when Beckham left (although things weren't truly the same after Cantona went)

The only reason people hate united fans is cause thay where w*nkers when thay won the league thay went on about it and on about it and on about it which turned everyone on them the only other team that was as good as them was arsenal and nobody hates arsenal but united fans cause thay beat them this year, anyway nobody cares about united since the fans have been silenced and see the way there going on cause there top you think you've won it allready...

it's not so much the club but the supporters everyone hates, half of them have never been further north than london. come to think of it most utd fans probably support chelsea these days. closer to home. Man U fans are all talk, as soon as their team don't win the preiership every year they lose interest.
