My ex bf's sister sends me stupid forwarded things, and I was wondering if I can somehow block them, so she can't email me anymore. She doesn't know how to use email for anything else more important...

Thanks to all of you for answering. She's not someone I talk to, nor do I want to. I didn't think it was that easy to block someone, since I've never had a reason to. I figured I'd just have to deal with it and ignore it as usual!

If you see their email address you can put them on your blocked address list, but they just change their address faster than you can block them. Make sure your Spam bin is turned on. If not click Edit and turn it on. To use the block address, from the mail screen over to the right click Options, then Mail Options, click Spam, type the address in the block address box, click Add Block, click Save Changes. You will need to do this one at a time. In the meantime keep marking them as Spam, they will slow down and stop. Don't open them it lets them know your account is active, then you receive tons more.

Yes, you can block an e-mail from coming into your e-mail In Box. It will go to your Bulk folder. She can still send e-mails to you, but you won't see them. The Spam button does this for you, but there is a limit as to the number you can block so only block those that come from the same address a number of times. After you reach the limit, you will have to remove some of the blocked addresses before you can add more.

Have you TOLD her to stop e-mailing you and to take you out of her address book?
You don't say what e-mail program you are using. That would be very valuable information!?! ;)
In Yahoo e-mail just put a check in the box next to her name on an e-mail and click on the SPAM button. If you decide to take here off that list you can do it in the "Options" for the "Spam Filter" section.
It's been so long since I've used Outlook for anything I don't remember how to do it there.
BTW: in the future, be extremely selective as to WHOM you give your e-mail address to!!! By now EVERYONE has it that this person has Forwarded things to and the ppl THEY have Forwarded to, etc, etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad NAUSEUM!
I also wish ppl would learn to use BCC for e-mails going to more than one person!!! The we wouldn't have the problem with our addresses being spread all over the place.

You can add that email id to block list. Once you do that, all emails coming from this person will go to Junk mail. This is easiest way to block email in webbased email accounts.
Anyther way is to create an automatic rule to delete this email if you are using outlook..

hey, depends on what u r using, u can definitely block her if u r using hotmail, u simply click 'options', then sth like 'junk mail (protection)' - sth to do with blocking and then u insert her address...that's it...I think yahoo has it too, but won't let me in so i can't check if it's so...

Yes it's possible. The steps for doing so vary by email client.
It may be better to just ask her to please stop sending you emails. That just might work.
