THAT'S EXACTLY WHERE I'VE HAD MINE FOR 29 YEARS AND I HAVE A LOT OF SHELVING OVER THEM FOR STORAGE AND ROOM FOR A HAMPER BETWEEN THEM. IT'S VERY CONVENIENT NOT TO HAVE IT ALL STUCK IN THE BATHROOM! ALL THE PLUMBING IS THERE FOR BOTH UNITS AND I DON'T HAVE A SPECIAL VENT FOR IT. ALL THE WATER AND HOT AIR GOES OUT THROUGH THE HOSES AND PIPES THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO. I HAVE A LOT OF MY PAPERWORK, FOLDERS, EXTRA TOWELS, WASHING AND CLEANING SUPPLIES AND EVEN PICTURES IN THERE. YOUR CLOSET IS MUCH BIGGER THAN MINE SO I CAN'T IMAGINE WHY IT WOULDN'T BE JUST FINE.

Appropriate venting will be a needed item, of course. To minimize installation costs, check out the LaundryPure system sold by EcoQuest. This is a cold-water-only system that doesn't require hot water usage...also no bleach or softeners. If you can ensure that you are venting the heat from your dryer and have a professional install both the washer and the dryer, I think you'd be in good shape.

I dont think that it will hurt your clothes that are hanging ing the closet. I do however think that the dryer can be a fire hazard if there is not the proper ventilation. You also have to think about what will happen if the washer over flows do you want the mess in your bedroom closet??

You could do it but you would have to do the plumbing run water and electrical to the units as well as putting in a dryer vent and a vent for washer moisture. I am wondering about not much money for redecorating.

It's OK if you have the proper utilities ran in there. You need a 220 volt plug for the dryer, a 120 volt plug for the washing machine, and hot and cold water outlets for the washing machine. Also, you need a drain for the wash water to get to the sewer system.

You'll have to run pipes for water and a drain pipe for drain water. You'll need 220 or gas for the dryer. If gas dryer , you'll need to have it vented outside. But, if you leave the door open, the heat shouldn't build up too much. Your clothes should be fine.

My sister-in-law has a unit in her closet but you need the appropriate vents/water hook-ups. It shouldn't hurt your clothes unless the washer overflows...then you will have problems!

I don't think it will hurt your clothes. Can you get hot and cold water up there and a drier vent and the right outlet. Should work.

keep in mind the pluming, and venting:) you have to go into the septic and do you have a way of getting water to where you want to put it. yes it a great idea but can it be done? and trust me pluming is expensive that why my bathroom isn't completely done yet:)

You need a place to vent off the water, though
