yes but get ready for red tape and paperwork!
check latest regulation with your consulate. In doubt, checked with EU commission in Brussel (the NL Alien police is KNOWN for not always going by the book)
In the Randstad (Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Rotterdam) there are lots of job for english speakers, at various level. Do a reconnaissance trip though, secure a job then move.

You want to be able to smoke weed legally, huh? Yes, you can move there and live there, but there are requirements for you to do so. Check with the Dutch Embassy.

To become a Dutch citizen you must first master the language. If you are not proficient in Dutch you won't be given citizenship. (unlike here)

You could get a regular resident permit or expatriate both of which aren't easy.

If you want to smoke dope legally just join the Native American church. If you want to take heroin legally just put a gun to your head.

You can stay for a short while with an MMV but must renew it periodically and they will scrutinize you so if you're wanting to live there just because you want to smoke dope chances are they won't consider that a good reason to let you in.

Please contact me I too want to move there,but the rents are high we could be roommates.I am retired.I would also consider Hawaii and Vancouver British Columbia.If you find that an american can live there let me know.My income is only 1,239 dollar a month.I just love the place and would give anything to live there.I like smoking Marijuana.
