Kissimmee might be the town that you are thinking of. Celebration is also not far from WDW.

Dec. 6-13 isn't exactly 'dead', but it also isn't as busy as Christmas week. Early december is nice because all the parks are decorated for the holidays, but the highest crowds haven't arrived yet.

Kissimmee is the town outside of Disney World. I was there that time of year in 2002 and it wasnt bad at all. We accually stayed in Orlando. Not far from Universal Studios. Days Inn. It's a little ways from Disney World but well worth it. Disney World is beautiful that time of year. Everything is set up for Christmas and Magic Kingdom has "snow". Are you planning on going to Disney World?

You're probably refering to either Lake Buena Vista or Kissimmee. That area shouldn't be too bad during that week. I am traveling out around that time as well. Just avoid being there any longer because that is when the holiday crowd arrives.

The town located outside of the main gate (Downtown Disney Area) is Lake Buena Vista (route 535).

kissimmee and beuna vista are the two most widely known towns. while the weekend might be a little busy with locals going to hit the parks for the holiday decor, the week days shouldn't be bad at all as the local kids are still in school.

Kissimee and St. Cloud. It is always busy closer to Christmas/New Years. February is a nice time of year to go too---still kinda cool and less crowded.
