All just depends on the species of fish you are wanting to keep for each scenario.

Join the forums out on this site (it's free) and then click on the link called "Species Profiles". There being resetup right now, but you can still do a search of the common names of the fish, and the profiles have both pictures and writeups (including the rand for the fish).

It really depends on the species of fish but as a general overview...
Goldfish: 70-80 F
Platys, Mollys,
Swordtails: 75-80F
Chiclids, Pseudos,
Puffers, Angels,Oscars:75-84F
All Salt: 80-85F
Mind you, this is general...for anything but a goldfish, try getting a heater...about 50watts per 10gal. Make sure you put the heater underwater before you turn it on, otherwise you'll burn it up. Check it daily to be suse it doesn't short and kill your fish
