I have never weighed more than 100 pounds unless I was pregnant. I never really gained much weight in the first 20 weeks or so of any of my pregnancies (3 kids). I think my total weight gain was about 27 lbs each time. All three babies were healthy and average sizes. (7 lbs 13 oz boy & 7 lbs 7 oz girl & 8 lbs girl)
It might make you feel better to keep a journal of what you are eating for a couple of weeks. Write down everything you eat, how much, what time, etc. Look to see if you are covering all the food groups.
You can add some protein shakes or something like Carnation Instant Breakfast to help you gain a bit more too. I drank the instant breakfast shakes for snacks and also used them in place of milk to make high calorie milkshakes.

Don't worry about gaining weight right now. Just try to keep things together for your baby. There is nothing wrong with your weight. You will gain it in the last months of your pregnancy that is a known fact. I have a friend who weighed less than a hundred pounds when she found out that she was pregnant during her pregnancy she didn't gain much weight but her last 2 months she gained nearly 30 pounds so be patient. Its coming. Bless you and congratulations on your baby.

My teeny tiny best friend is 37 weeks along. She has gone from 108 to 138. But she just gained most of it in these last few weeks (since being put on unrelated bed rest). She only gained 10 in the first 6 months too. Remember if you are very small naturally, there is at least a 50% chance your baby will be too. Don't worry needlessly. That puts stress on you and the baby. If there is anything to worry about your doctor will tell you. Relax and enjoy these last few months.

I was not very big when I got pregnant with my son, I weighed 110 and the docotors were worried that I wasn't gaining enough weight, I weighed 130 in the end, but it was all baby and breasts from the back you couldn't even tell I was pregnant I looked like I was smuggeling a basketball. My boy was 8lbs 7 oz, so don't worry you have plenty of time to gain more weight.

You can gain a lot in those last 3 months. Don't worry too much....my husband's aunt gained 14 lbs. during her entire pregnancy w/her daughter, and she is now a very healthy 12-yr old. Also, look on the bright side...you will be able to lose the weight faster by not gaining so much! I gained 65 lbs. w/my baby and now that she's 6 months, I still have 15 more lbs. to lose! :-P

Most of the weight comes on the last month or so, don't worry about it. A lot of people that put on more usually started eating everything in sight because "they are eating for 2" but it use to be 20 lbs. gain was good. So your on schedule, remember the less you put on the less you have to take off after.

I am small also, I only gained 16 lbs. with pregnancy. The only time my doctor was concerned was when I plateaued, when I had been consistently gaining weight and then stopped. She advised me to eat some ice cream every night - not the cheap, junk food kind, but something like Breyer's that actually has milk as a first ingredient other than sugar.

Before I got pregnant, I weight 120. When I got pregnant I lost 2 pounds, then in my last month, 7 months, I weighed 138. So, in total, I only gained 20 pounds and I gave birth to twin girls.
Also, I am only 5'2". I did not have enough room for my babies to grow anymore I guess.
So to answer your question, that is not bad, but I would suggest you talk to you OB about your weight issue if it is bothering you.

You still have 3 months to go. I'd say a 25 pound gain on your frame would be plenty...that means you only have to put on 3.3 lbs a month from now on. That will be easy considering fetal weight gain, increased blood flow, etc. Consider yourself lucky....I put that on in a week when I'm pregnant. Good luck!
