Start your day with a high fiber cereal, like shredded mini-wheats or something like Kashi Go Lean Crunch (my favorite.) Compare the boxes and buy whichever one appeals to you and has the higher fiber content. You should also eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Dark green vegies are twice as good because they contain extra folic acid besides their fiber. When you eat foods like apples and potatoes, eat the skin, it contains most of the fiber and nutrients. You can also try the new fiber supplements, there is one that you can add to anything and it has no taste, you can drink it in your water and never know it's there. Whole grain breads contain some fiber as well. You need to learn to read labels and buy the item with more fiber (whole grain bread instead of white for example.) Drink a lot of water, that's a big help too.

If you're worried about not getting enough fiber you can take fiber supplements like Fiber Con (tablets) Metamucil (powder) or my reccommendation would be BeneFiber, it's a power but it's tasteless and colorless and you can add it to any of the foods you eat. Fruits and vegetables are high in fiber as well.

Whole grain foods, oatmeal, bran, fruits and veggies....check the side panel on nutrition information. Make sure it contains at least 2 grams of fiber per 100 calories.

mmm . . . prune juice! It is actually REALLY good if you by the organic stuff that is not overloaded with sugar. If it is too strong for you, cut it with some sparkling water, or better yet, grapefruit juice. Grapefruit and bran flakes for breakfast is a great fiber start to your day.
Beware cereals that are "high in fiber" but not low in fat, as these can be really wasted calories. "Grape Nuts" rock.

Beans are great. Very high in fiber and protein. They also help lower cholesterol. On average---people eat beans maybe 4 times per year. We should be eating the 4 times per week. This lady is a nutritionist--- http://www.zonya.com she has recipes too. Good luck and best wishes.
