I use this program to create images for free then copy to dvd or external harddrive

U shoulb be looking for backup software
i'd recommend Acronis True Image.
pros :
1) It can directly backup to dvd without any 3 other soft (such as Nero).
2) fast and safe
3) It's quite easy in use.
4) it's cheap enough
cons :
interface and upgrade policy coulb be better.

A DVD can hold 4.7GB. Your HDD is probably much bigger than that. Consider getting an external HDD to backup onto.

i think that if your HD is about 5 Gb, you can use any 3d party backup prog. and if your hd is more the 5Gb, it's better to use usb external HD, and store images on it. among backup progs i'd recomend you o look at true image.

yes, u can , nero has a built in program for this, it will use 4 to5 discs, and be time consuming,but dvd blanks are about a buck apeice
