The Buccaneers or the Eagles? I am guessing the Eagles ... but thought I'd ask others what they think. Also, how do I check to see when they are on a bye week? (As you can tell, I am new to this.) Thanks!

The Eagles defense is a much better choice than the Bucs.
Something that may help you out making future decisions is nfl.com. It's very user friendly for seeing league statistics of both individual players as well as team statistics (eg. total defense, run defense, pass defense). This will also help you decide which position players to start each week.

If you are in a Yahoo league go to: Extras and then Opponents. It will show you all your players byes weeks and opponents for the next five weeks. This is a great tool for deciding whether to pick up a player or not.
As for Bucs or Eagles D for week 6: Go with the Eagles vs the Saints. Tampa Bay plays Cincy and the Bengals offense is too explosive.

To answer your second question first. Assuming you are playing with a yahoo! fantasy team you can click on the week number at the top of your team page to see who on your team is on a bye for that week. Or you could go to www.nfl.com and print out a schedule. As for your first question I would play the Eagle's defense in almost all circumstances and drop Tampa for another D/ST that may be available on waivers. ps. the Eagle's have a bye in week 9. Good Luck

It's time to drop the Bucs. Their offense can't keep the defense off the field enough, so they are wearing down. Philly is okay. hang on to them. They are just injury depleted right now.
I would bet that you can get a decent defense off the waiver wire. Denver might be available. Some people gave up on the New York Giants and Washington Redskins, both are decent...
Or, since you have Philly, you can grab whomever is playing the Raiders on any given week. They have almost no offense.

protection isn't as substantial as many human beings say it is. Over the direction of the season, there is not lots distinction in fantasy factors in keeping with interest. That being stated, don't sense such as you should commerce to get Chicago DEF. there are a number of different respectable to good defenses obtainable. Take San Diego. It went undrafted in my league and is now component to my team. do not worry that lots.

It would depend on who they were playing. The majority of the time I would play the Eagles D, but if there was a more favorable matchup in Tampa, that would affect my decision.
