my girl friends wants a meerkat i want to get one for her does any one know how i can get one and how much are they

Its illegal and not kind to the meerkat. A meerkat group will pine for their lost meerkat for days...they don't make good pets - they dig, they require a special diet of sand and high roughage foods. Also visitors to your home are likely to be bitten - as the captured meerkat will assume they are from a rival meerkat gang. You'd be better off getting a cat.

Also, there are laws against having them.
A Ferret is probably as close as your gonna get.
Consider getting her a gerbil, chinchilla, Degu, or Guinea Pig. They are much more suited to pet life. They will all sit up like a meerkat too, except the guinea pig.

Bad idea. They're stinky and they prefer to live in groups. To isolate one for personal pleasure would be like cruelty.
