At my school, yes, but it would not make sense. Semester parking fees are $250. You already have to pay about $95/semester for an unlimited public transportation pass.

Honestly I believe it dpeends on the college I know when I was in college we were not allowed to have cars in college until sophmore year of college. It may depend also on how many credits you obtain while in school. If you call your college of choice before entering they will be able to answer this question for you by calling the resident halls or also maybe the police.
I hope this helps..

Sure! you not in high school anymore and unless you are Doogie Howser then you should be able to drive so why wouldn't you be allowed to have anything you want. West Point or some military academies may have some wack-a-doo rules like that but at any other college you should not have restrictions that affect your personal life. If you live on campus and are a freshman then you might not get a parking spot but they can not keep you from having a car. I wouldn't want to be caught dead in a panzie azzed dorm room anyway unless you are still a high school student. Welcome to the world Freshman!!! New Meat!! hahaha...

it entirely depends on which college you go to. At my school you were never given any parking because I went to school in the city. I wouldn't recommend it. You are so broke and stressed Freshman year, why have something else to worry about. Make friends with someone who has a car, LOL

It depends on which college you attend. If you attend a commuter college you will need to have a car. If you attend a college with dorms you will probably not be allowed to have a car.

I think it depends on the school. Lots of times you are allowed to have a car, but parking for freshman is very limited.

the vast majority of colleges no
but it really depends.
Smaller schools with lots of space for parking will grant everyone a parking space, and most colleges let out of state students who live a certain distance away have a car,
but why would a freshman need a car, they should be on campus learning to interact and live on their own!

sophomore,
go UCONN!!!

Yep, I even was allowed one at a junior college that I went to. Ignore that first poster. =) They understand that college people have to support themselves with jobs, etc. so they know they have to have cars to get themselves there.

it depends on which college you are attending. some colleges will allow freshmen to have cars on campus as a perk to get them to go there.
