Does anyone know any good chemistry labs/ experiments pertaining to food chemistry and different techniques of cooking? It needs to be high school level chemistry.

boil a potato, check its pH. Now bake one and check its pH. Why is there a difference?

Making a cake is chemistry...actually making anything that's different than the sum of its ingredients is chemistry. (Flour, eggs, water, oil, and whatever else you stick in there are the reactants. Put'em all together and add heat, then they react to form delicious cake, which is your product.

Now I'm hungry...
