we are told that if we date before 16 we end up missing opportunities to make more friends if we single out with one guy, and are more easily tempted into breaking the Law of Chastity. i'm almost 16, i can't wait! and we're being obedient to the prophet, that should be enough. i notice people who are obedient seem to be happier. (blessings)
yeah, General Conference is boring to me, but some people get answers to their questions and it reminds us of things. do you have a Mormon friend? aren't the church activities so fun? omygosh, go to EFY, you'll have a blast!! =)

It not that you can't date until your 16 it is just best to wait until your 16. Think about it some people do not mature until later. There are a lot of teen pregnancies too. I was taught to group date before single dating too. It is only so that you can know and understand and not niavely follow the crowd.
I don't listen to general conference. I haven't since I was forced to. What is said at conference is personal goals everyone should have in their lives. What needs special attention. Like some dads think it is okay to beat thier wives but when conference rolls around and they say no your going to hell for beating or laying a hand on anyone well it kinda sinks in some slower then others. Conference is like little reminders that everyone should take head. Its not just for mormons any one can listen. A lot of it is good simple everyday advise.

Some people dont let their kids date until they are 18 no matter what religion they are. Thats nothing to question.
Other than that, I was baptized Mormon when I was 8 and as soon as my grandma stopped making me go I havent been back. Tho I was young I was bored by what they were saying and am still not really sure what exactly it is that they believe. My cousins are all Mormon and the other day one told me I should move to Utah because thats where the profit lives...? I dont know what she is talking about but I guess they think there is a living profit?

Lots of people advise not dating until age 16. Just common sense at work there. If you are not up to a certain mental level of maturity it is not surprising you couldn't "get a word". My condolances.

sounds like you need to grow up just a little. i am sure there are things in your religion that others see as boring or unfair, but that is why you live here in america, where you have the right to choose. the momrmons must not be doin so bad. they have a lower rate of teen pregnancy and learn about morals and most important---- RESPECT!!! i belive that 16 is quite appropriate age to start dating. remember less is more!!!!

You have to get to know yourself before you go looking for a relationship with others.

To each his own. Do you have any beliefs and/or things that you feel passionate about besides which color lipstick to wear?
