Defragment your hard drive once every two weeks. You can auto-schedule this task if you'd like.

I clean my harddrive every day just before shutting down my computer. I also do a disk cleanup first. The most important reason is to keep my file bit and pieces in their proper place so that my programs will start up. For instance my puter needs to be squeaky clean when I start up, so my sattelite ISP program will open up. If it does not open up then i can't surf the internet. And doing this everyday goes very quickly. Just be sure to have all the boxes checked in the disk cleanup so that it deletes your temp internet files and your recycle bin and so forth. YOU CAN NEVER DEFRAG OR DISK CLEANUP TOO OFTEN..... :)
