A whole mess of things can cause blackouts. From the most benign head rush from standing up to fast, to the most dangerous tumor.
The thing you need to watch for is repeated events or accomponying side effects...severe headache, loss of feeling in the extremities or vomiting.

Blackouts are usually caused by a lack of blood/oxygen to the brain. Your body goes into a faint as a response to this as when you faint you fall to the ground which means your head is lower or on the same level as your heart which causes the blood to go back to the brain.
Some people faint as a result of pain or something unpleasant. Was your water too hot or cold maybe?
If you are at all worried or if it happens again you should go to your GP who will be able to rule out other causes.
Take care.

Low blood pressure is what causes mine but certain chemicals being released, standing up too fast (which my low blood pressure triggers this one to work) and other health conditions can cause this. Go in and talk to your doctor about this and maybe have your BP and your CDC taken to check if there might be potentially something going on you don't feel in everyday life.

Blackouts are caused by a lack of oxygen getting to the brain or your blood pressure is so low that lightheadedness (dizzyness)caused you to faint - I strongly suggest you see your GP to check it out.

low/high blood pressure-get checked at g.p.
