I have noticed in the house that aphids are flying around sometimes more than other times. I have tried to kill them by my hand but can't seem to kil enough that way, they are so fast. What can I use to spray in the house that will get rid of them. Something I can spray and leave the house for a short time. I hate it, when I am eating a few are around me and trying to swat them all the time. They are annoying. I only have one houseplant they are not bothering with it. Don't know why I have them in the house, first time. No food left out.

Spray the plant with Neem Oil or horticultural oil or insecticidal soap. All three of these have no poison. Thye work by coating the aphid and suffocating it. They're contact "poisons" thought so you have to do a thorough job--sprat the tops and bottoms of leaves.

If you want something that lasts longer but has some insecticide in it try Shultz Houseplant Insect Killer. It lasts 4 weeks and is made from crysanthemum flowers.

Get some ladybugs to put on your plants or spray them with soapy water. Aphids don't fly, they live on plants and chew the leaves and flowers.
You may be talking about fruit flies. Very small, black?

Put a bowl of red wine on the counter with a small amount of dish soap in the middle. Leave it out over night and you should get most of them.

I used sticky tape and then after that didn't solve the entire problem, I bought a house gecko. One side benefit of the gecko was that we forgot to tell my visiting sister about him and when she opened my daughter's drawer, he jumped out and frightened her. So, he was good for a laugh too.
