I don't think it's a fine line, I'd have to say it's a thick one.

Humility is when you can acknowledge that you're not perfect, that you have things to learn, and being able to apologize to those you've wronged.

Being down on yourself is completely different. This is when you not only think you're not perfect, you think you're horrible at everything, you always question your own judgement even though you're probably right at least some of the time, and you apologize to everyone just assuming that you're wrong.

Is this how you're feeling about yourself? If that's true, let me give you some advice. Don't allow others to put you down. Figure out what your strengths are and concentrate on them. If you have to, tape some notes to your mirror every morning saying good things about yourself. Cheesy? Yes. Does it work? Yes. How do I know? I had to do that for a long time.

Humility is having a realistic awareness of your capabilities and your good attributes but having the confidence to not feel compelled to brag about yourself.

Yes - humility means not being haughty or pretentious. It is a Christ-like quality that God loves. Jesus was humble, and he was the Son of the living God. He was definitely not down on himself. He knew who he was!

Being down on yourself is way different, and may have some shame base. Celebrate your good qualities and stregnths - and work on your weaknesses.

I think that depends on a number of factors, mainly your state of mind and how you feel about yourself over all, but no, I don't think there is a fine line.

Yes there is. But better than courting the danger of being full of yourself. You'll get answers when you really look for them.
