The expression, "when pigs fly" is used to be a sarcastic remark to express that the answer to the question is not happening or is impossible. So since pigs will never be able to fly then don't worry about it.
But to answer your question...yes I believe they would go from rind to rind because we would just shoot them out of the sky like phesants and eat them.
