My older sister and I are having an arguement. Is dick a curse word?

It is a vulgarism, when used to mean "penis". But it is certainly not a curse. "Curse" means wishing evil upon someone.

Now it is. Way back in a day it wasn't It's our fault for making Dick into a slang word. Now the poor comidian Andy Dick will have to change his name someday all for us inconsiderate youthful 20 somethings using if for slang. Poor guy.

the word itself has always made me think of the sexual organ and it's hard for me to understand why anybody would want to be called dick.does that mean it's o.k to call a girl ''pus-y'''.

when used in reference to male organs- yes, they cannot even use it on TV.
