Your Mother knows that, eventually, you are going to need to start shaving...afterall, she is a Women too. She is probably just waiting for you to say something, or maybe she assumes that you are already shaving. She isn't a mind reader...just talk to her. She will understand and be there for you.

there shouldn't be any embarrassment from asking your mom. at first it will feel totally awkward, but if you're close to your mom, it shouldn't matter that much. like everyone's said, your mom's of the female gender too, which means she knows about shaving and whatnot. ask her what she thinks of shaving, and that you think you need to start. ask her for advice, which i'm sure she will gladly give you. girls i know talk about shaving openly, and so do guys. i don't see why asking your mom should be a problem when guys can discuss it so easily. so don't tell yourself it's embarassing - sometimes it's even more embarrassing when you don't know anything about it.

Well depending on your age, you could always just shave without asking your mother?!? Take one of her razors, Im sure she wont notice... or if you really feel the need to ask her, just tell her that you are embarrassed with the hair on your legs and you think its time to start shaving.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt

Don't listen to those who say not to talk to your mom. I knew a girl who kept accidentally cutting herself with the razor such that blood would run down her legs. You should probably not do it without talking to her first. Maybe ask if she thinks you should or when she thinks you should start or whether she thinks you should eventually start.
