Why can't I update microsoft windows?

Insert the “Microsoft Word” 2002 disk and click OK

well it's simple if you have Microsoft Word 2002 you can insert in it,if not than there is no upgrade available to your program,because Microsoft needs basic files -which are on your CD Of Microsoft Word.Better way to go to Microsoft Window update site and first select upgrade,you will be have two alternatives 1) window update and 2) is office update (window word)-first of all get the validation of your o/s through Microsoft,as now they wanted to weed out pirated software.

You are trying to update Word 2002...you need the installation disk to perform the update. This is an anti-piracy thing that Microsoft has.
