if you read the official rules it will probably say "not responsible for misprints". it may not be on the back of the ticket, but your state lottery puts out a pamphlet with the complete rules. if it says that, you have no case.
and if you dont have the ticket now, you really have no case.

You need a civil lawyer.
Was this mistake publicized? If it was, they may have made an announcement of the printing mistake and let everyone know that the "winning" tickets would not be honored. When this happens, they usually recall all unsold tickets so your situation does not happen. If they did, there is not much you can do.
There was a situation similar to yours where I live a few years ago. They recalled all unsold tickets as soon as they found out about the mistake, and then announced in all the papers and on tv that if you had a "winner" you would get $300 as compensation.
You probably will only get nominal compensation of a few hundred dollars. I know it totally sucks to think you won all that money, but the lottery commissions pretty much have their butts covered over printing mistakes.

You will need a civil lawyer. Talk to a few before you decide, and don't go with anyone who "gaurantees" anything, it is something they just can't give you. I would say you are right now doing whatever you can do which is ..not letting it fall to the wayside on the advice of others but searching for justice. That in itself is very admiral...I sincerely wish you all the success you deserve!!
OH AND make sure you have all and any paperwork ..letters tickets corresponcence..etc. !!

A Federal court prosicution lawyer (civil lawyer). But I think the 11th amendment says that a person isn't allowed to sue a state or federal owned functions so I don't know if the lottery counts.

One stupid enough to take the case. It's a sure loser.
You'll need to find one that requires payment by the hour because a commission based lawer isn't going to bother.
Btw, it's a civil lawyer.

Ask them why they let the store sell it to you.
So they could rip you off?
They would legally have to take all the tickets back.
I'd go to the news station too, tell them all about it (after you talk to a good lawyer).
Sue them and good luck.

Do you still have the ticket...if not you might be in trouble....if you do still have it any good personel attorney should be able to help, or at least get you to an office that specializes in that kind of thing.

A very, very good one...or twelve. Going up against the state lottery and their team of expensive lawyers isn't easy.

Hey, don't waste your time suing because there's a good chance you wouldn't win and if you did, you wouldn't get that much; and on top of that you have to pay court fees and the attorney gets 33.3 percent of you winnings. good luck.
