Choose an eyeliner appropriate for your eye color. Brown, navy and charcoal accent light eyes well, while brown and plum shades flatter brown eyes, black creates a dramatic effect.

Consider the type of look you're after. Pencil eyeliner gives your eyes soft definition, while liquid versions offer precision and drama. You can also moisten dark eye shadow and apply it with a small, flat brush. Or, if you're using a pencil eyeliner, ensure that you've sharpened the pencil adequately.

Which ever liner you decide, hold the brush or pencil as you would hold a pen.

1. Keep your eye slightly open and tilt my head back and look at the mirror with both eyes open. That allows you to get very close to your eyelash line.

2. For lining the top lid, use your non-dominant hand to pull the skin on the top of your eye taut, and then apply your eyeliner with your dominant hand. It may help to rest your dominant hand against your face as you apply it to help with control and support. It may take you a few attempts to get it right, but practice makes perfect!

If you want to line the bottom of you eye, again rest your dominant hand against your face to line, and use your the other hand to help keep the lower lid taut.

3. Using short feathery strokes instead of trying to draw one solid line draw a line across the upper lid just above the lashes, from the inside corner to the outside corner of the eye. If you're using liquid liner, allow it to dry before opening your eyes all the way, or the color may transfer into the crease of your eye.
If you used a brush or a pencil, soften the look by gently smudging the line with your smudge brush, a cotton swab or your finger.

Line the lower lids. Moving from the outside edge inward, draw a line on the outer two-thirds of the lid or more, depending on the look you're going for. Your line should be slightly thicker at the outside corner, becoming thinner as it moves in toward your nose. Using your brush or pencil, lightly stroke the area. If using a liquid liner, apply it in one smooth stroke. Apply less color so your eyes don't look too harsh.

If you have small eyes try to avoid lining the inside lids as this will make them look even smaller. If you want small eyes to look bigger a good tip is to line the inside lids with white eye liner.

Another tip is to have eyemake up remover or wipes and an ear bud close at hand, so if you do make a mistake you can remove it immediately.

Anyway I hope this helps and remember PRACTISE MAKES PERFECT

Liquid eyeliner is great, if you want something dramatic. Opt for that when you go out. Otherwise, try to put on regular eyeliner with your eye open, that way you can see exactly where it's going and judge whether or not it looks good. OR I would recommend applying just plain eyeshadow with an angle brush. That way you can get sooo many more colors, and it's a foolproof way!

try this tip: tilt your head backwards a little and look downwards, so that u get a good angle at your lash line. get liquid liner (or a thin line brush and gel pot), and start at inner corner of the eye.. follow as closely as possible along the lash line until u hit about 3/4 of your eye.. then go Straight out, and even a little upwards(instead of going downwards and following the eye).... when u look at your face normally, you will see that the line u made actually sweeps upwards, making your lashes look Longer. :) good luck! just practice.. u can also get makeup remover w/ a q- tip and fix along the way

I think you should use liquid eye liner.Using eye liner on the top lid is said to cause loads of stress on the top eye area. But I think you should use a black eye shadow powder form and take a q-tip and draw a thin line on the top eye lid.Or use a eye liner that's in a powder form!

get liquid eyeliner. When you apply it, pull the outside of your eye outward (as if you were pretending to be japaneese) Follow with the liquid liner directly on the lash line, and extend outward barely past the lashes. Then, you are done. It should look awesome and pretty natural.

Liquid liner is a good idea but I need to strech my eyelid to get it to go on straight! I find that putting a little flick at the outer corners of your eyes makes your lashes look longer too! :) xxx

either go under your top lashes or keep the line as close to your lashes as possible. use a pencil, it'll look softer than that liquid stuff that just looks trashy.
